Adi Stoenescu studied classical piano for eight years in his hometown T\u00e2rgovi\u0219te. While a student in Computer Science at Politehnica University of Bucharest he began studying jazz improvisation with the pianist and composer Marius Popp.<\/span><\/p>\n

He played Hammond Organ in blues trios (Cyfer) or jazz trios (Alex Man, Sorin Romanescu) and experimented free forms with C\u0103t\u0103lin Milea\u2019s Hammond Trip with whom he played at Jazz and More Festival in Sibiu, 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of Arcu\u0219 Trio (Alexandru Arcu\u0219 and Marcel Moldovan) he won the prize for Best Composition at the Sibiu Jazz Festival, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

His main recordings include Allotropy<\/em> (2016) with Arcu\u0219 Trio, Titan Suite<\/em> with Iordache (2019), Landing on the comet<\/em> (2017) with his own band KRiSPER. In 2021 he launched the first material under his own name with Adi Stoenescu Group, Waking Light <\/em>(Borislav Petrov on drums, Mihail Ivanov on double bass, Arnau Garrof\u00e9 on tenor sax). A second material (Surfacing<\/em>) followed in 2022\u00a0with Adi Stoenescu Trio (Alessandro D’Anna on drums and Jonathan B\u00e4ckstr\u00f6m on double bass).<\/span><\/p>\n

In recent years he participated in the most important jazz festivals in Romania and Moldova (Bucharest Jazz Festival, G\u0103r\u00e2na, Jazz TM, Green Hours Fest, Smida, Transilvania Jazz Festival, Jazz In The Park, One Jazz Festival, Ethno Jazz Festival in Chi\u0219in\u0103u).<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently residing in Berlin, he leads his band, Krisper, while actively exploring modern jazz through his original compositions.<\/span><\/p>\n
